I would like to thank the following people for their donations to our 3rd annual senior citizen
food drive.
Grigsby Intermediate School:
Thank you to Grigsby Intermediate School and Principal Don Stratton for allowing his students
to participate in our township senior citizen food drive. The classes that participated were Ms.
Amy Simpson, Ms. Cynthia Medford, Ms. Megan Cunningham, Ms. Sharon Albers, Ms. Dana
Kelting, Ms. Tina Sheppard, and Ms. Lee Ann Elliff. These were all 6th grade classes. The students
collected over 800 non-perishable food items in a one week period. Each class was competing
against each other for the most food items collected. Ms. ElIiff's class won the competition, with
the students collecting 330 items. The winning class received a pizza party.
I would like to give a special thanks to Amy Simpson and Ron Simpson (father of Amy) who has
taken the lead in helping with this event every year. This event makes our food drive possible.
The students, their families, and the staff at Grigsby Intermediate School are a tremendous asset
to our community. Thank you for all your hard work.
Doit's Village Inn:
Thank you to our good friends at Doit's Village Inn for their generous donations as they do every
year. Thank you Doit, Sally, Beth, Angie, Ashley, Johnny, and the rest of the staff of
Doits Village Inn and to all their patrons that give so graciously. We appreciate all that you do
for the community.

Nameoki Township.
Thank you to Makayla Bird of Girl Scout Troop 606. Mikayla collected food items for our

Tracy Bird notified us that Makayla was earning her Bronze award for Girl Scouts. We are very
proud of her for contributing to the community. Good luck on earning your award!
Thank you Randy Viessman - Nameoki Township Supervisor for the monetary donation. This
allowed us to purchase things we needed to make our baskets complete.

Monroe, Charlie Leuhmann, Helen Hawkins, Nick Cohen, Lydia Pyatt of Glen Carbon, Nick and
Judy Modrusic. Also thank you to the many Anonymous donors. We can't do this food drive
without your help.
